Changing diapers
I think I've mentioned that so far Bea hasn't really ever been in to dolls -- she's a stuffed animal fiend through and through. But this weekend she got out her doll and started changing its diapers. Except her doll didn't have a diaper. And she used our dinner napkins (ugh) for wipes.
I definitely wanted to encourage this play from her for many reasons, not least of which is that we would like to stop changing HER diapers ONE OF THESE DAYS. She has proved extremely stubborn in this department (and she really isn't a stubborn one overall.)
So...
...we made up some diapers. She picked out some pictures for her doll's diapers just like her own diapers have on the front and back. And I made her some proper wipes.
Much better!

awh! nice job on the nappiees.

Hands down, the sweetest diapers ever. But the dinner napkins? That just makes me smile, in a sort of funny and disgusting, I am still changing my own share of diapers way.

I was just thinking about doing this!! And I mean JUST- like 5 minutes ago.
N is fascinated with the diapers too, and she got platic diapers for her babies for Christmas, but they just don't fit and stay on.
(I might do a little diaper bag and diapers for her birthday Friday.)

Great diapers! I was a 'doll' girl when I was little and I played for hours with my dolls. I can remember grieving when I was considered too old to play with dolls. What fun!

What a great idea! I definitely need to do this. There are plenty of dolls at my house that need their bottom covered.

Completely adorable! This is something I plan to do once I have a child who even REMOTELY cares about dolls...

Sweet little diapers Amy! I had this on my to do list for awhile now, along with easy doll dresses. Keely has only recently started playing with dolls also....but her animals do wear the cloth diapers she has already.
I like the little pictures on Bea's. Very cute!
Guess you're back on the crafting train now!:)

Brilliant! My little guy is also very potty resistant. I wonder if we move the diapers to a doll if it would encourage him/

DInner napkins as wipes. I'll keep that in mind for when I'm in a pinch.

That's a great idea. My daughter has a doll whose diaper she likes to change, but the Velcro tabs on the dipe that came with the doll are a little too tight for her to manage on her own. Must make dolly diapers now... :)

Definitely much nicer. It's really great that you could do that for her. Maybe this is her first step to getting out of those diapers.

okay, that's just about the cutest thing ever.

Just be patient, I swear I thought my child would NEVER come around to giving up diapers and pull-ups (he was 3-ish when he gave up diapers but over 4 before he gave up pull-ups at night). I finally just let it go and kept telling myself it will happen before kindergarten. One day he decided it was the day and that was that. Hang in there. Very cute diapers, that should definitely open the conversation up.

So sweet. We've been nappy-ing a stuffed kangaroo, but his tail does make things a little tricky! I guess if I made my own, he could have a cut-out hole... But then again, maybe not.

Adorable! I am delurking to let you know that I have finally joined a year of color after lurking there almost all year!

What a lucky little Beatrice! Having a mommy that can craft almost anything she desires or needs. Sweet!

Too cute!! I too have a very stubborn little girl who refuses to potty train (she is three and a half). She uses real wipes on her baby doll though.

What a positively brilliant idea! The doll diapers are adorable and maybe could be made into real baby diapers, too.

I think you should make a potty chair for the dollie too!

That's very cute, Amy. And I have to say that I was never much of a doll girl, either. In fact, I play with dolls more now than I ever did as a child; back then, I always kept them "asleep" in the doll crib my dad built for me in vain.

Is there a tutorial for these? I LOVE this idea!!!
