100
As I reach the milestone of my 100th post (in 104 days!) I feel the need to make a list.
Why I Blog or,
Why I Started a Blog
1. For me, about me. As a journal of the mostly little but some big things that I do. As a reminder to appreciate the little things.
2. For me, about Bea. As a remembrance of the mostly big but some little things that Bea does. As a reminder to savor the big things.
3. For others. To keep in touch with friends and family, to let them in on photos and stories about the little things.
4. For me again, about quilts & other sewing projects. To keep a running tab on things I've made. Because making things makes me happy and proud and I like to look back on what I've done.
Why I Blog Now
5. In addition to the things above, it helps me be more mindful of my life. I like that, but sometime my head just spins with all the things I am aware of.
6. I have been inspired to take more photos because I have a place to showcase them. I like that.
7. I now feel that I am part of a community (club??) of relatively like-minded (or at least like-souled) folks that are as appreciative of my mommy/crafty efforts as I am of theirs. I enjoy the interaction, especially during an otherwise adult-free day.
8. I am enjoying the challenge of writing. While I don't strive to create a masterpiece, I do want to be proud of my words when I look back on this blog in years, so I am trying to hone my skill.
9. I have entered the strange world of swaps in which blogs play a key role, as you must show off what you have made and gush about what you have received. (And watch out friends and relatives, because I have discovered the power of mailing unexpected care packages and I am not afraid to use it.) And I haven't even mentioned the non-swap challenges such as Tie One On and the 30 Day Photo Challenge. Such stimulation!!
10. I love hearing from you. I am so happy to hear little comments on my posts and amazed that more folks continue to "tune in." I am fascinated by the level of energy and quality of dialogue generated by this form of communication called blogging.
NOW, ON TO THE CELEBRATING. GIVEAWAYS!
I am giving away:
--Four eye spy fabric "kits" which include at least 40 fun fabrics (about 8 inch square) to get you started on making an eye spy quilt or some fun fabric concentration cards. Not to be sexist, but I have two "boy" and two "girl" collections. These projects are lots of fun but do take many fabrics. I have 'em, so I'm sharing the wealth!
--The Mama Backpack that I made for the tutorial -- which will be Post #101, I promise!
If you are interested in any of the above, leave me a comment. If you have a preference of what you want or don't want to receive, let me know. In a couple of days I will draw names for the winners.
Thanks for reading. Happythings makes me happy. Now, I think I need to go make some cupcakes.

Cheers to your 100th post. Wow, thats a lot. I think you've had lots of fun sharing your moments and projects.
Have a cupcake for me!
Wish I could be closer to help with crafts. I would love to show you how to make the beaded bracelets we spoke about. Or finger paint with Bea!
I'm still loving my pillows you made for me for my birthday. Have you put those on your blog, I'm not sure if I remember seeing them. They look wonderful on the bed with Grandma's chenille spread. Now if I could just find an antique dresser!!!

I will have to be the 25th to comment, 1/4th of the comments relative to your blog posts.
All I can say is amazing! You have made us laugh, remember, shed a tear, rejoice, reflect, crave the next one (especially when it features Bea), wonder, ....all with the power of the written word and visual images.
And did I mention how much we have enjoyed your photography. You have made significant gains in image artistry, now if you'll only take the dial........ off Program!
Love,
Dad/Ganba
